What app do I need to download?
- Search for Sleep Trainer Kidstible on the App Store or Play Store. You should be able to find it in the results beneath any sponsored sports-betting and doom-scrolling social apps.

Is the lamp safe?
- We have undergone all the necessary safety testing in manufacture of the lamp and earned the certifications for selling a product for use with small children. This includes extensive materials testing and performance testing. We do get questions about the Bluetooth. It's important to note that your lamp actually uses Bluetooth Low Energy (or BLE), not classic Bluetooth like you might have for streaming video or music. Lots of information on the differences available on the internet.

Why won't my phone pair with my lamp?
- Right out of the box, the lamp's onboard battery is likely very low (ironic, we know). While the app on your phone will see the lamp, the battery level is so low it can't connect. Put the lamp on the charging pad. The small battery indicator on the back side of the lamp below the grip will blink red. Wait about five minutes for the lamp's onboard battery to charge. It will pair. If you have more than one lamp, match the ID of the Bluetooth device listed on your phone to the sticker on the bottom of your lamp. Once connected, you will see the Bluetooth pairing indicator on the backside of the lamp below the grip light up blue. If after matching the ID to the sticker, and after charging the lamp you still are unable to pair, let us know!

What if the lamp is too bright?
- If, even on the dimmest settings, the lamp is still too bright for your kiddo, then let us know! We have these cool, heat-shrink sleeves you can apply to the lamp using an everyday hair dryer (is there such a thing as an every-day hairdryer for a mom with small children?). Anyway, send us a message and we can send a darkening sleeve to you.

Can I manually start the lamp without my phone?
- There's one, small, black button on the under side of the lamp. When the lamp is off, pressing that button one time will automatically start the lamp with the same wake time it remembered from the previous program that it finished. Can we mention here that we strongly recommend using the My Routine feature in the app to allow the lamp to auto run on your household schedule.
-
Can I manually turn off the lamp without my phone?
- Yes. Same black button under the lamp. Press and hold for five seconds. The lamp will turn off. It's a press and hold because we know kids like to press buttons. But have they figured out the press and hold? We're hoping not.
-
Why won't the app let me set a routine longer than 12 hours?
- When portable, the lamp's onboard battery is really only going to last for a maximum of 14 hours when fully charged (depends on what colors and how bright the lamp is running). For the kids who want to take the lamp to bed, we set the 12 hour limit on a routine as a guardrail to ensure the lamp couldn't be set for a wake time later than the battery would last on the lamp. Who has kids sleeping more than 12 hours anyway?
-
I am using the snooze feature to add +5 minutes to the nap but the cells inside the lamp start over at the beginning like my child is starting their nap over?!
- Admittedly, this is an error of the lamp's firmware (the code written onto the micro chip inside your lamp). We will get this corrected if we ever become successful and have an opportunity to make v2 lamps. Until then, just know that if you want to snooze the wake time to add a few extra minutes, the lamp in your son or daughter's room will appear to them to start over.
-
Is there a battery indicator for the actual portable lamp (this isn't confusing yet is it)?
- Yes. The battery indicator is a small light the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen on the backside of the lamp below the grip. It will blink red or show solid red based on battery status and when it's charging. It will show green when on the charging pad after it's reached full charge.
-
Why does the battery indicator show green on the charging pad and then a moment later blink red?
- Great question! Your lamp isn't broken. It's built that way. The lamp's onboard battery and firmware prevent the rechargeable battery from continuing to charge after it reaches full capacity. So the lamp's battery indicator is going to glow green when it reaches full charge on the pad. But the truth is, once it reaches full charge, it will stop charging and start slowly expending battery power. So if you take the lamp off the charging pad and then put it right back on, you will notice the indicator light (which was green) is now blinking red. The lamp is now back to charging it's battery. Whew--talk about a Droste effect!

Is there a way to reset the lamp?
- On the iOS app, go to the menu and tap the Clear Configuration option. Confirm the popup. This will clear the routines and the nickname you assigned to the lamp and restore it like when you first took it out of the box. For the Android app, we are working on another update to provide this same feature.
-
Does the lamp adjust for Daylight Savings Time?
- No. And yes. Your lamp doesn't have an onboard atomic clock. But it does have clock and timing capability. It pulls the current time from your phone every time the two pair. While the app on your phone knows DST is coming up and will send you an alert, the lamp doesn't know. The morning of a DST change, open the app, pair with the lamp, and the lamp's current time will re-sync. You can confirm this by going to the menu, tapping My Device, and it will show you the current time for the lamp.

Clayton & Andrea, I love your lamp. How can I ever repay you for the sanity restored in my household?
- We are so glad you asked! Like many entrepreneurs, 9 out of 10 days we feel like we're failing. But if you're read this far on a random FAQ page, you're either related, were asked to proof read our content, you like the lamp, or you have an important question we haven't yet answered. If you like the lamp and it has helped you and your child in some way, let us know! It would mean so much to hear your testimonial. If you hate the lamp, keep it to yourself.

Any other questions?
- If you have a different question, congratulations. You're a trail blazer. You ask questions which are not frequently asked. But contact us and we will judge you. I mean judge your question. I mean we will answer your question and decide if it needs to be added to the list of Frequently Asked Questions.
